Savoury Churros

An unconventional twist to a classic snack! Traditional sweet crunchy Churros are definitely a crowd pleaser, but these Savoury Churros are a delicious snack worth your time!

If you're looking to level up your lazy snacking game, these easy Pinwheel Savoury Churros are a fun way to get started. The Plattered Churros Mix is a handy helper in the kitchen when sweet cravings strike, but with this recipe, you can satisfy your savoury cravings for crunchy goodness right in the comfort of your home.
Even though frying them might seems dauting, trust us, this process is super simple and can easily be done with less oil and in a shallow pan.
The only important thing to keep in mind is to immediately and generously dust the freshly fried Churros with your favourite seasonings, which ensures they stick well.
We dipped them in our favourite ketchup and immediately got to snacking, cause that's exactly how these should be consumed, HOT and FRESH!
Here's everything you need to you own fresh crispy snacks:

Ingredients:

1 Plattered Churros Mix
½ cup Milk
2 tbsp Oil
Seasonings on your choice, we used Mixed Herbs
Dip of your choice, we used chili ketchup

Method:

  • Warm the Milk & Oil in a saucepan and add it to the Churros Mix.
  • Mix till a smooth pipeable batter forms, and sprinkle in as much seasonings as you like :)
  • Transfer to a piping bag and pipe pinwheels on square pieces of parchment/baking paper.
  • Heat oil in a pan for frying. Once hot, gently drop in the squares (batter side down), and carefully peel off the parchment.
  • Remove once golden and immediately sprinkle your choice of seasonings all over.
  • To make them like pinwheels, poke them with a skewer and place them in a jar/glass.
  • Dip them in your favourite sauce and take a bite!

P.S. - Best served fresh!

Note: If the cake does not release cleanly from the silicon bundt mould, refrigerate for an hour and try again.
